Nursing Application Process

Before You Begin

Students must first apply to Morton College before completing the Nursing admissions process. The Nursing program has additional requirements, a mandatory information session, and specific deadlines.

Use the steps below to make sure your application materials are submitted on time.

All deadlines are 4:30 p.m. Central Time unless otherwise noted.

  • Before beginning the Nursing admissions process, you must first apply to Morton College.

    After you apply to the college, continue with the remaining admissions steps.

  • You must attend a Mandatory Nursing Information Session as part of the Nursing admissions process.

    To register for an information session, contact the One Stop Center:

    📌 Deadline to complete this step: January 15, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. Central Time

  • After attending the information session, submit your proof of residency to the Office of Admissions.

    Submission period: September 25 through January 15

  • Submit an official high school transcript to Morton College.

    You may also submit one of the following if applicable:

    • Official GED transcript

    • Official HiSET transcript

    • Official TASC transcript

    • Official foreign transcript evaluation report that includes a high school equivalency statement

    Your graduation date must be listed.

    Deadline: May 21, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. Central Time

  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended.

    A transcript is considered official only if:

    • It is sent directly from one institution to another, or

    • It is mailed to your home and remains sealed in the original envelope

    Deadline: May 21, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. Central Time

  • This step only applies if you live outside the district but work full time in the district.

    You may be eligible to submit an In-District Employment Verification Form if:

    • You live outside Cicero, Berwyn, Stickney, Lyons, McCook, or Forest View, and

    • You work full time (defined as 35 or more hours per week) in one of those communities

    Final in-district status is determined after review by the Registrar and verification by the Nursing Admissions Committee.

    Deadline: May 21, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. Central Time

  • You must complete the TEAS Admission Exam as part of the Nursing admissions process.

    Priority admission consideration is given to applicants who earn a minimum TEAS composite score of 60%.

    Additional notes:

    • Bonus points may be awarded for a score of 60% or higher on the first attempt.

    • Applicants may take the TEAS exam up to two times during one application cycle.

    • TEAS scores are valid for two consecutive admission cycles.

    • Retake exams, if allowed, must be taken only on approved retake exam dates.

    First attempt deadline: May 7, 2026
    Retake deadline, if eligible: May 21, 2026

  • You must earn a grade of C or better in each minimum prerequisite course by the end of the Spring 2026 semester.

    Required minimum prerequisite courses:

    • BIO 203

    • ENG 101

    • PSY 101

  • You are encouraged to complete as many of the following courses as possible by the end of the Spring 2026 semester.

    You must earn a grade of C or better for the course to count toward possible additional admission points.

    Additional point courses:

    • BIO 204

    • BIO 212

    • ENG 102

    • PSY 215

  • Before the final deadline, make sure you have completed all required steps that apply to you.

    Your Nursing application may not be complete until all required documents, transcripts, exam scores, and forms have been received by Morton College.

Attend Mandatory Nursing Information Session: January 15, 2026 by 4:30 pm

Submit proof of residency: January 15, 2026 by 4:30 pm

TEAS exam, first attempt: May 7, 2026

TEAS exam retake, if eligible: May 21, 2026

Official high school transcript or equivalency documentation: May 21, 2026 by 4:30 pm

Official college or university transcripts: May 21, 2026 by 4:30 pm

In-district employment verification form, if applicable: May 21, 2026 by 4:30 pm

Required prerequisite courses completed with C or better: End of Spring 2026 semester

Additional point courses completed with C or better: End of Spring 2026 semester
