Program Overview
The Maintenance & Light Repair (MLR) Program, a one-year certificate program, is the product of a partnership between Ford Motor Company and select community colleges and technical schools, provides world-class Ford automotive training from Ford-certified instructors.
The program allows students to:
- earn an MLR certificate in 12 months or fewer
- learn the core skills needed to compete in the competitive automotive retail market
- be ready to join the work force immediately after completion
Curriculum
Methods of instruction include web-based, classroom and "hands-on" technical training. The MLR curriculum provides students with the same technical training received by Ford Quick Lane technicians and includes instruction in:
- Electrical Systems
- Climate Control
- Brake Systems
- Steering & Suspension
- Tire, Chassis and Maintenance
