Logging on to Blackboard (formerly WebCT) courses

Q: 1. Where are my online courses?
A: Follow these steps to view your Blackboard (formerly WebCT) courses:
  1. From the MC Homepage (http://www.morton.edu )click on the "Access Blackboard(WebCT) Courses" icon on the left. You will see the Blackboard (formerly WebCT) login web page.
  2. Enter your WebCT ID and Password.
  3. Click the "Log in " button. You will see the "My Blackboard" web page, which lists all your Blackboard (formerly WebCT) courses.
  4. Click on any of your courses listed. The course Homepage for the selected course will be displayed.

Q: 2. What is my WebCT ID ?
A:

Your WebCT ID is the combination of the first four characters of your last name and the last four digits of your SSN. (If the length of your last name is less than four chracters, use the entire lastname and the last four digits of your SSN as the combination). All lowercase and no spaces. For example:

Name: John Smith
SSN: 123-45-6789
User Name: smit6789

Q: 3. What is my Password? How do I change my password?
A:

Your initial Password is your Date of Birth (DOB) in the following format: YYYYMMDD. For example:

DOB: December 1, 1982
Password: 19821201

After you log on to your "My Blackboard " page for the first time, you will be able to change your Password:

1. Click on "password settings" on the top
2. On the change password window, type your old password and new password and then click "update password"
3. You'll be promoted if you password has been updated successfully or not.

We recommend you change your password immediately after you logged on.

A: Send an email to . Include your first name, last name, WebCT ID and the course(s) you are enrolled in. You will be provided with a new Password via email.

During the first two weeks of the semester, WebCT ID will be updated every 24 hours.

If you enroll in an online course after the first two weeks of the semester, please email . Include your first name, last name, WebCT ID and the course(s) you are enrolled in. This will activate yourWebCT ID.
