Welcome to Nursing at Morton College

Welcome to Nursing at Morton College

Morton College’s Associate Degree Nursing Program provides students with a strong foundation of current practice that is grounded in scientific and humanistic reasoning. A curriculum of nursing and general education courses encourages active learning and contributes to personal and professional growth. The C.A.R.E provides compassionate all-inclusive retention efforts to aid in the success of our students.

The program of nursing study can be rigorous and challenging. Students needΒ basic skills in the natural and social sciences, mathematics and English (written and verbal). Nursing requires individuals to be caring and compassionate, act according to high moral standards and demonstrate the ability to think critically. Most importantly, nurses must have sufficient interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals and families who are vulnerable and experiencing pain, grief and fear of the unknown.

Graduates of the Nursing Program are competent generalists who are accountable for providing care for various patient populations in a variety of healthcare settings and have the ability to function as both provider and coordinator of care within the discipline of nursing.
