Information about Financial Aid Charges at the Bookstore

    • Students whose financial aid award exceeds the balance of their tuition and fees may use their financial aid funds to purchase books and supplies at the Bookstore.
    • Financial funds may be used during a period from two weeks before the start of the semester until the second week of the semester. All returns and exchanges for items purchased with financial aid must be done during this period, in accordance with the Bookstore’s refund policy.
    • A student’s financial aid award may change if that student adds or drops a course—in this case, the student may be liable for charges previously covered by financial aid funds.
    • Students must provide their student ID number, as well as a photo ID, to the Bookstore cashier in order to use financial aid. It is recommended that students use their financial aid to first purchase their textbooks, and then use the remaining balance to purchase supplies. There is no limit to the number of times a student may make purchases with financial aid.
    • Students are allowed a maximum of $700 to spend at the Bookstore unless otherwise approved by the Financial Aid office. If a student’s purchase is greater than their current allowance, they will be expected to pay the difference with cash, check or charge, or to remove items from the transaction.
    • If financial aid funds are pending, the student is responsible for any charges incurred until those funds are processed. If the student does not qualify for financial aid after the verification process, they will be liable for all charges incurred.
    • Any and all questions regarding one’s financial aid award should be directed to the Financial Aid office.
    • By using Financial Aid funds at the Bookstore, one acknowledges that they have read and understood the above.
