    The Office of Admissions & Records works collaboratively with students, staff, and the community to provide high quality service. Our mission is to maintain student records, process transcripts, and registration with integrity and pride.

     

    We're happy that you're considering pursuing your educational goals at Morton College! Every member of our staff is committed to helping you get started as quickly and as easily as possible.

    Remember, classes fill up quickly! Get started as soon as possible to ensure your class schedule works for you!

    To begin, download the Getting Started Checklist (PDF). Then, new students should:

  • Complete FAFSA (If seeking financial aid)

    Students seeking financial aid should complete the free application for federal student aid. This application is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Morton College Financial Aid Office often offers free workshops to help you fill out the FAFSA on our campus.     Apply for Admission

    Click the "Apply Online" button on the website and complete the online application. Submit high school transcripts or GED scores and transcripts from all previously attended colleges to the Office of Admissions and Records. International students should submit the International Student Application and visit the Requirements page of the website for more information.

    Submit Official High School and College (if applicable) Transcripts

    High school transcripts should include a graduation date. All Official transcripts must be submitted in an envelope sealed by the institution. Faxed transcripts are not accepted as official.

    Schedule an English and Math Placement Exam

    This exam determines the level of English and Math where you will begin.It is possible to place at levels that can take one-and-a-half to two years to complete before you reach college level, so make sure to do the best you can. Call (708) 656-8000 Ext. 2250 to schedule a time.Make sure to thoroughly review the Study Guide (also available in the Academic Advising Department or through the Panther Portal) before taking the exam.You can determine if you need to take this exam by reviewing the Getting Started at Morton College Checklist.

    Attend a PantherPalooza (New Student Orientation)

    When you schedule your appointment to take the placement exam, you should also schedule an appointment to attend a PantherPalooza . Here you can discuss placement results and plan your registration. Academic Advisors can also provide you with information on academic planning and transfer requirements. The Academic Advising office is located in Building B, 1st Floor.

    Log in to the Panther Portal

    Log in to the Panther Portal to access important information including: course offerings, class registration, financial aid status, class schedule, grades, and much more.

    Pay Tuition and Fees

    Options include: financial aid (stop by Room 204B to verify that all paperwork is complete), payment plan (Nelnet-Facts), scholarship, check, credit card, and cash. Click here for more information or call (708) 656-8000 Ext. 2428.

    Buy Books and Supplies

    The Morton College Bookstore is located in Building C, Room 134.

    Prepare Yourself for the First Day of Class

    Optional Student Orientations are a terrific way to learn some inside tips on being successful in your classes. For more information and session dates, contact Academic Advising at (708) 656-8000 Ext. 2250.
